They are smaller, 1-5 people on average, and only consist of the person requesting the class and those they invite.

Both are done intentionally to provide a more comfortable and efficient learning environment, give more time for questions and individualized coaching, as well as allow for us to meet each student where they are at in their skill development.

  • Concealed Carry Permit Process

    The program consists of two modules: a classroom session and a live-fire training session, each paid for separately to help spread out the cost. Combined this comprehensive course will far exceed the state of Colorado's CHP requirements and prepare you to defend yourself and those around you. 

    Classroom Module (When to shoot) (3-4 hours) The classroom portion covers all essential topics, including:

    • Mindset: Understanding the psychological aspects of concealed carry and self-defense.

    • Use of Force: Learn the legal and ethical considerations when using force in self-defense situations.

    • Best Practices: Gain practical tips and advice for responsible concealed carry habits in day-to-day life. 

    • Written Test: The session concludes with a written test to assess understanding of the material.

    Live-Fire Module (How to shoot) (4-5 hours, 200 rounds minimum) In this hands-on session, students will:

    • Practice the 4 Universal Firearm Safety Rules to build safety habits.

    • Apply the 7 Fundamentals of Marksmanship to lay the foundation for accuracy.

    • Master the draw technique to improve speed and confidence while doing so as safe as possible.

    • Understand how to effectively dry fire to practice trigger control and shooting fundamentals.

    • Using a Crawl, Walk, Run training approach: Students will start by shooting statically at a simple bullseye targets, gradually progressing to more advanced drills that incorporate target identification, pushing speed, while maintaining round accountability and accuracy. The day will conclude with a live-fire range test. 

    By the end of both modules students will be confident in their ability to safely and effectively carry and use a concealed handgun, both on the range and in real-world scenarios.

    Locations: 

    The classroom module will be conducted at one of two locations in the Arvada area. A church we partner with located near 64th and Wadsworth or a business office located on 81st and Sheridan. Scheduling and class size will determine the location. 

    The live-fire module will take place at Empire Gun Club in Wiggins, Colorado. It's the easiest drive up I-76 roughly 1 hour outside of the Denver area. We will initially meet at the shop right after you pull into the gate.

    Notes: 

    • Students are encouraged to bring their own firearm to the live-fire range day, but accommodations can be made if a student does not have their own.

    • Student required to bring all necessary safety gear (Eye protection, hearing protection, proper outdoor range attire), and a minimum of 200 rounds. 

    • Both modules are separate and do not over lap so students may take either as they wish. 

    • Each class must have a minimum of 3 students. Classes with less than 3 will cancelled and the students may elect for a refunded or adjust to the next available class. 

    • Students will be required to take both modules within 60 days of each other to receive a certificate.

  • The techniques and foundational skills learned in this course will provide the student with the tools they need to grow as a shooter and the confidence to continue their growth in future courses.

    The goal of our Pistol 1 is to provide the student with the knowledge of how to train essential and fundamental skills on their own, at home, for free. Doing so saves money, and allows for a faster, more effective learning experience when on the range verifying their dry fire work.

    Having these fundamentals engrained is crucial to safe weapons handling in later courses where more dynamic movement is involved.

    Topics of Discussion:

    Firearm setup, loading & unloading, stance, posture, grip, trigger control, sight alignment & sight picture, and clearing of basic stoppages & malfunctions.

    Students will leave the course with the knowledge and tools needed to further at-home dryfire training, as well as the confidence in basic firearm use.

    Cost: $350

    Time: 3-4 Hours

    Skill: None! This course is designed to accommodate everyone from the newest shooter with zero experience, to the average shooter who is looking for more established formal training, and even uncle Bob who has been shooting soda cans in his back yard for 30 years and wants a refresher.

    Equipment: Your own pistol and 100 rounds of ammo minimum. More if desired.

  • In this course we build upon Pistol 1 fundamentals with greater refinement of the skills and techniques covered to ensure the shooter is being as efficient and consistent as possible. After a brief review of fundamentals, we push into new material.

    Topics of Discussion:

    Pistol draw technique, reload variations, additional retention & ready positions, rapid-fire, movement, target transitions.

    Cost: $350

    -Requirements-

    Time: 3-4 Hours

    Skills: Pistol 1 or equivalent prior education.

    Ammo: 250 Rounds Minimum

    Equipment: Student must have a quality pistol, quality kydex or equivalent inside or outside holster (No nylon or loose holsters), 2-3 magazines, eye and ear protection.

  • The techniques and foundational skills learned in this course will provide the student with the tools they need to grow as a shooter and the confidence to continue their growth in future shooting courses.

    Building confidence in the rifle platform the student will walk away with what they need to continue building fundamentals at home for free on their own.

    Having these fundamentals engrained is crucial to safe weapons handling in later courses where more dynamic movement is involved.

    Topics of Discussion:

    Firearm setup, loading & unloading, stance, posture, grip, trigger control, sight alignment & sight picture, and clearing of basic stoppages & malfunctions, ready ups, zero theory and height over bore.

    Cost: $350

    -Requirements-

    Time: 3-4 Hours

    Skill: None! This course is designed to accommodate everyone from the newest shooter with zero experience, to the average shooter who is looking for more established formal training, and even uncle Bob who has been shooting soda cans in his back yard for 30 years and wants a refresher.

    Equipment: None! We begin our live-fire portion with the use of suppressed 22LR rifles to remove all noise and stress. If you have a firearm you’d like specific training on you’re welcome to bring it, however the student is not required to have anything.

  • In this course we build upon Rifle 1 fundamentals with greater refinement of the skills and techniques covered to ensure the shooter is being as efficient and consistent as possible. After a brief review of fundamentals, we push into new material.

    Topics of Discussion:

    Target transitions, emergency and admin reloads, sling use, ready up and retention variations for CQB, clearing more difficult malfunctions, rapid fire, moving/running, shoulder transitions.

    Cost: $350

    -Requirements-

    Time: 3-4 Hours

    Skills: Rifle 1 or equivalent prior education.

    Ammo: 250 Rounds Minimum

    Equipment: Student must have a quality rifle, single or two point sling, 1 additional belt-attached magazine holder, 2-3 magazines, eye and ear protection.

  • In this course we expand beyond fundamentals and explore the realm of tactics within our environment. Understanding that should you have to defend yourself or others it will very likely be in and around a vehicle or other structure.

    Knowing how to utilize cover and concealment to your advantage could be the difference between life and death.

    Topics of Discussion:

    -Slice Entries (Stealth)

    -Deliberate Entries (Slow and Methodical)

    -Dynamic Entries (Rapid)

    Additionally we will discuss and apply best practices for weapons handling, communication, movement as an individual, or with others.

    Cost: $450

    -Requirements-

    Time: 4-6 Hours

    Skills: Pistol 1, Pistol 2, or equivalent prior education. Safe weapons handling is expected and assumed at this point.

    Ammo: 250 Rounds Minimum if doing live-fire)

    Equipment if Live-Fire: Student must have a quality firearm, quality kydex or equivalent inside or outside holster (No nylon or loose holsters), 1 additional belt-attached pistol magazine holder, 2-3 magazines, eye and ear protection.

    Note: This course is typically done done dry, however live-fire is available depending on the request and location.

  • There is absolutely no replacement for hands-on training. There is also no replacement for quality one-on-one training. If there’s a particular discipline you’re looking to improve on having an instructor’s undivided attention is invaluable.

    Non Empire members can hire an instructor to lead a skills and drills course to look for areas of improvement based on the requests of the student.

    Non-Member Cost: $150/hr

    Member Cost: $75/hr

    Firearms and ammo can be provided for a small fee.

    Depending on desired material range and other fee’s may apply.
